![]() ![]() We also at at Coco Loco and the Beach House, which were both good. We had no issues finding great restaurants in Flamingo - we loved Soda Brasillito which is a small local soda about 5 minutes away that was cheap with great food. My kids loved boogie boarding at Flamingo and spent most of the week doing that. ![]() The beach in Flamingo compares to Hawaii beaches to me. It is crowded and touristy and a completely different vibe than Flamingo. It is right on the beach in Flamingo on the quieter section away from the hotel. I love the location of the Palms, while I haven't stayed there, I would love it. We stayed in Flamingo in March with kids your kids age and LOVED it. Or is Playa Flamingo too quiet? Would love input. Tamarindo seems to have plenty of that, but I'm wondering if it's more than we need. That said, we don't want to spend all our time in the car, either.Īlso, are there enough fun restaurants for us to grab dinner in Playa Flamingo? It's not like we need much nightlife for tweens, but it would be nice to grab a fun dinner after a long excursion day before waking up to do it again. We will want to rent a car if that makes a difference, and don't mind driving a bit to get to excursions. I know they will want to take a surf lesson one day, I'd like to do Rincon de la Vieja tour one day, and not sure about the other few days we are there, but probably something that would enable us to see some cool wildlife like monkeys, etc, and then one day maybe zip lining, rafting, or ATV tour or something like that. Also important is the availability of activities/excursions. I am really drawn to the nice looking rentals & facilities at the Palms development, and wonder how Cala Luna in Tamarindo compares (I know it's not totally apples to apples since one is a hotel & one is condo, but just in terms of "niceness"). My family of 4 (2 girls ages 11 & 13) will be flying into Liberia for Spring Break middle of March for 5 nights. ![]()
